Sandy Jamieson was born in Glasgow and still lives there, after spells in Troon, Fife and Spain.

In 1991 he left his job as Assistant Director (Children and Families) with Strathclyde Regional Council, to become a writer, producing in quick succession Graeme Souness, The

Ibrox Revolution and the legacy of the Iron Ladies Man, Own Goal (Games 2 & 3), and The Great Escape?

He became a founder and Chief Executive of Includem, an organisation providing intensive support and supervision to Scotland’s most troubled and troublesome young people, work for which he received an OBE in 2008. A founder member, he was active for many years with Who Cares? Scotland, the organisation for Young People in Care.

He left Includem and went to Spain to write books about the Miracle of Villarreal (Yellow Submarine) and the new model of football relationships developed by the Celtic Submari in Vila-real.

He was Chief Executive of Ringwood Publishing Limited in Glasgow for many years during which he only wrote one book, A Subtle Sadness until he retired in 2025 to focus solely on writing new books
