Sandy Jamieson was born and still lives in Glasgow. He worked in Fife and Glasgow as a social worker. He gave up his job as Assistant Director (Children and Families) with Strathclyde Regional Council to become a writer.
He has written three published novels, A Subtle Sadness, Own Goal and The Great Escape? He has also written three books about football including Graeme Souness the Ibrox revolution and the legacy of the Iron Lady’s Man, published by Mainstream Publishing October 1997.
For many years he was President of Who Cares? Scotland, the organisation for young people who are or have been in care.
He was Chief Executive of Includem, an organisation providing intensive support and supervision to Scotland’s most troubled and troublesome young people.
He left Includem and went to Spain to write books about the Miracle of Villarreal (Yellow Submarine) and the new model of football relationships developed by the Celtic Submari in Vila-real.
He was Chief Executive of Ringwood Publishing Limited in Glasgow for many years during which he only wrote one book, A Subtle Sadness, until he left in 2025 to focus solely on writing new books
He has coped, just, with being a Clyde supporter all his life.
